SCI-FEST LA:  The Los Angeles Science Fiction One-Act Play Festival

 

Co-founded by actor, David Dean Bottrell (“Boston Legal”) and veteran Los Angeles theatre producers, Michael Blaha and Lee Costello, SCI-FEST LA: The Los Angeles Science Fiction One-Act Play Festival debuted in May, 2014.  This first-of-its-kind annual festival offers audiences two rotating evenings of new, professionally produced, 15-minute sci-fi plays - all performed live on stage.   In addition to the producing many original scripts by up-and-coming writers, the Festival has also produced stage works by legendary Sci-Fi authors like Neil Gaiman, Clive Barker, Ursula Le Guin and Ray Bradbury.   The Festival has continued to garner rave reviews and features many well-known actors from iconic sci-fi franchises such as “Star Trek,” “The Walking Dead,” “The X-Files,” “Supernatural,” “Lost,”  “Grimm,” “Heroes,” “Fringe,” “The Hunger Games,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “True Blood.”
